Bio

Madeleine Shepherd is a freelance fashion assistant based in New York City. Recently moved from San Francisco where she attended school for communication studies, she has a passion for the arts, travel, and food.

Fashion has been her pure passion ever since she was a little girl. Growing up in southern California, she was exposed to various influences to her successes today. Madeleine spent her high school years volunteering at a thrift store where she then discovered her love for not only clothes but vintage clothes. Because she found so many treasures working at the thrift store, it inspired her to open up an online store on Etsy. Madeleine spent 4.5 years on Etsy re-selling vintage pieces and even came up with a design for a studded converse that became her best selling item. She then decided to end her days on Etsy after she found a job being a buyer at Buffalo Exchange her junior year in college.

At Buffalo Exchange, Madeleine spent extensive hours training with her managers and co-workers on buying merchandise for the store. She learned the ins and outs of the fashion industry with knowledge of trending cuts, fabrics, and brands. She soon became the well-respected, reliable, and cutting-edge employee that earned her two employee of the month awards and a spot for her to represent the store at a nationwide company conference where she got to meet the CEO.

After graduating, she then decided to say goodbye to her life in San Francisco to pursue a career in the fashion capital of the world, New York City.

Madeleine has assisted on-set for editorials that have been published in The Impression Magazine, i-D.com, Cosmopolitan Magazine (Khazakhstan), W Magazine online, Schön! magazine online, Porter Edit Magazine, So It Goes, and L'Officiel USA. She now freelances as a fashion assistant part-time & is trying to push herself to style independently for any projects that become available to her.
